OpenRC + bootchartd + lxc (Linux Containers)

Thu Dec 02 21:57:33 2010Hi there, For benchmarking purposes I am interested to track relative boot speeds within Linux containers on a Gentoo system. Initially I would like to use this to compare OpenRC with the older / legacy rc system. It seems that bootchartd will do this. bootchartd start && bootchartd stop will generate the .tgz file in /var/log, however I am not sure where to plug these in to the init system since the default kernel command-line option for integrating bootchart does not apply to Linux containers. Rather than playing around and breaking things I figured I'd ask an expert :) Any idea where to throw the start and stop commands in to the legacy rc system without a kernel commandline? Any idea where to throw the start and stop commands in to OpenRC without a kernel commandline? Any gotchas? Thanks - Walter
