I don't clearly understand the patch, but bits that I can see seem 
hardcoded that you have just a single tap connection?  I use tap[01] 
since one does UDP and the other does TCP vpn (actually, perhaps I don't 
need two devices, never thought about that? However, the point is that 
some folks might?)

Can this be changed to a regexp test?

Also I think it's not appropriate to depend on net.tap0 since it would 
be completely valid to be using net.tap5 for the vpn?  It's probably 
perfectly acceptable to leave the user to create the correct 
dependencies (or at least mark the device to start at boot, etc) though?
