I don't like them, I don't feel I have control over them, I get annoyed 
when users complain that it doesn't work then they upgrade to a new 
autotools, etc. It's a dependency I just don't want or need.

This way I have full control.

Lastly, stuff like autoconf isn't normally available on most OS's dhcpcd 
supports - it's an extra thing to install, maintain and pray the version 
I need is available. This way the only things I need are a toolchain and 
git.
