The release archive from github [1] creates a folder called 
"dhcpcd-dhcpcd-7.0.0-rc2".
Note the doubled "dhcpcd" in the folder name.
Not a big issue as the contents are identical.

Currently going to compile 7.0.0-rc2 for Raspbian/Debian.
