option 120 FQDN decoding issue

I am configuring DHCP Option 120 with FQDN as: "renu.com"
Wireshark is showing correct Sip server FQDN(" renu.com" ), but dhcpcd client do not decode it properly.
From dhcpcd i receive FQDN as
new_sip_server='renu.@^E'
(every time value after last dot is omitted by dhcpcd client)
Can you please suggest if there is change in configuring the option
