Sun Jun 04 10:47:35 2017My understanding of IAIDs is that they're client-specific. While I never tested with a provider I've running a router hierarchy behind a FrirzBox and I'm using such simple IAIDs such a 0 or 1. The point in MAC-derived ones is to be able with dynamically added interfaces, so you get unique IAIDs without prior planning. Hopefully, this makes some sense, but I might be mistaken, so please correct me if I'm wrong. The default iaid is meant for a default config, and mainly for ia_na addresses. > Sorry, but I have no idea how this is supposed to work. The mac address of pppoe0 is generated, so is the default iaid, too. How can I setup a working ia_pd in this case, using the default iaid? My problem is that my IP provider ignores the old delegated prefix on a reset of the pppoe0 connection. If I invent my own iaid for pppoe0, then it is pretty unlikely that this will ever work. ???
