Sorry for not attaching any logs or more concise packet captures, as I 
wasn't sure it would be good practice to do this on this mailing list.

I've checked the syslog thoroughly and I've found the error message 
"unauthenticated RECONFIURE6 ..." (sic!). Next, I've checkt the 
Raspberry Pi GitHub repository which has dhcpcd 6.7.1 only for Jessie. 
And this version doesn't show any traces of an option "noauthrequired". 
In particular, dhcpc6.c in reaction to a DHCP6_RECONFIGURE simply checks 
for auth==NULL and then complains.

So, was "notauthrequired" introduced only later than 6.7.1?

I'll try to compile a recent dhcpcd on my RasPi from your sources.
