Thanks for this update.
Indeed, using icons instead of a gtk/qt widget to display the strength
of the signal is good idead to simplify a few things.
I am using the popular Faenza icon theme, and so, I went to take a
look at the status icons and no standard wireless status icons to be
found.Well, there are `gnome-netstatus-$RANGE.png' icons (and NM)
icons, however, they're not being used.
And I don't see any related signal strength icons in the installed files.
Question: What icons are being used for this?
UI: [xembed]
It seems xembed is in trouble right now, some WM are removing
xembed support. GNOME-3 decided to get rid of statusicons altogether
(useless from their point of view.) I don't remember anymore
the status of the fall back mode. (GNOME devs seem to look badly
at it because it doesn't respect their new BRAND LOOK. What was
the point of doing it in the first place?)
Libindicator seems to get the limelight at the moment.
Question: Any plan for libindicator support?
