No, it is not missing from the system as it is compiled directly into 
dhcpcd-gtk. The error itself is reported *from* libdhcpcd which implies 
it is there and working, otherwise you would see a message from dhcpcd-gtk.

(I assume you re-installed as well as re-compiled dbus with no success)
Can you report the permissions on 
/usr/lib/dbus-1.0/dbus-daemon-launch-helper please?
